Music | K4-2nd Grades

Music Theory | 3rd-12th Grades

Georgina Pirona-Santibanez is a Lakeland-based music instructor and violin/viola performer. Her musical journey began at age six with the viola, later adding the violin, training at El Sistema in Venezuela. At fourteen, she joined the professional Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Yaracuyana (OSJY), serving as the viola sectional coach and principal violist of her youth orchestra, beginning her career as a strings instructor and performer. She performed under renowned conductors like Gustavo Dudamel and José Antonio Abreu, playing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Shostakovich. During Georgina's last year in Venezuela, three classmates and she wrote a dissertation on the inclusion of children with Down Syndrome in schools, becoming an ESE advocate at her school after her brother was diagnosed with Autism and Down Syndrome.

After relocating to the US in 2017, Georgina studied viola under Stephen Hoy and Dr. Manuel Tábora. She played with the Macon Youth Orchestra as their principal violist and sub-string quartet coach. Upon her US high school graduation, she strongly felt the Lord calling her to pursue music to share the Gospel and be a part of discipleship through instruction, carrying Romans 12:1-8 in her heart. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Florida Southern College (FSC), where she earned instruction in all string instruments performed as the principal violist and sub-violinist in the FSC orchestra.

With nearly 10 years of teaching experience, Georgina has taught private lessons and tutoring across various subjects. She was a private strings instructor at Lakeland School of Music while in college and served as a sectional instructor at FSC Strings Camp. Currently, she is a viola adjunct instructor at Harrison School of the Arts, principal violist of the South Shore Symphony Orchestra, and runs Pirona Studio, offering instruction in violin, viola, and beginner cello. Her teaching philosophy focuses on individualized approaches, making learning enjoyable and tailored to each student's needs. Georgina has been honored to be an ISA Elementary General Music teacher since 2022. She married her college colleague and tuba player, Jose Santibanez, and they own beautiful cats. She believes music should be an enjoyable experience that fosters discipline, dedication, and consistent effort. It should not be rigid, but instead, it should be a combination of challenging yet engaging activities that allow students to achieve an awareness of musicality and expression through music.

In her free time, she enjoys learning Korean and Chinese, playing the Erhu (Chinese string instrument), crocheting, going to Universal, trying new foods, and playing games with her three younger siblings.

Amber Setteneri

Visual Arts | K5-6th Grades

Amber Settineri's biggest passions in life have been for Jesus, children, and art for as long as she can remember. She has loved Jesus ever since she was a child, growing up with parents who were children’s pastors. The desire to work with children has been in her heart from a very young age, and she didn't wait until she was a “grown-up” to start. She created a VBS curriculum when she was just 11 years old, and her life has been a myriad of experiences volunteering and working with children of all ages ever since.

Amber obtained her Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education and also attended Rhema Bible Training College. Currently, she and her husband run a faith-based nonprofit called Worth and Purpose. It is all about generosity and showing people their worth, which leaves lots of room for creativity. Amber loves to use art and creative experiences to bring people together and to teach the Word of God.

She is a living example of the impact a biblical foundation can have on a life. She believes no one is too young to experience the realness of God, to know His love and peace, and to live with purpose.
